DANCE PARTY DIARIES

@ Zoo Riot London Dance Co.

Shades of Bollywood

I was very excited as I arrived to teach this Bollywood themed dance party for Aisha (the hen) and her friends.

We started off with a game of flirty disco to 'Disco Dhamal' which always involves some racing around to find your next partner.

Then we did a quick warm up including training isolation movements of the head, shoulders, chest and hips and some stretches to

make sure we were ready for anything.

It was already pretty hot on one of the hottest days of the year but we added in another warm-up routine to start learning some classic

Bollywood moves such as horse steps and windscreeen wipers - first to 'Bhangra Knights' and then sped up slightly to the Pussycat Dolls

'Jai Ho'. Finally it was time to learn the main routine to 'Kala Chashma' - we all had our sunglasses at the ready for the chorus. The verse

moves came from a Bollywood dancer I met in India, we tried a line formation with some complicated arms going in different directions and

we lifted the hen like a Bollywood princess midway through. The best part was the chorus though - everyone giving their best 'cool dude'

moves! We filmed the routine for the girls to check out later and then posed for final photos with our shades on.

Nice one ladies!
