When we received the enquiry about from Ministry of Sound looking for a choreographer and dancers for a RAT PACK TV commercial, our hearts just jumped and we felt like a dream was coming true! As a choreographer and dance team manager, nothing can beat seeing your vision turned into reality on a TV advert.
After a quick call with the production team and I perfectly understood what he needed - so we clicked straight away and before you can say "5678" the job was ours.. Well done ZooRiot!
We started the selecting the right dancers to fit the brief among the ZR team and within just a few days, we were in the rehearsal studio. The brief outline was to prepare 6 short, fun & sleek routines to combine into a 30 second medley. All the songs were are taken from the 3CD compilation boxset from Ministry of Sound, "Cool Cats and Diamond Dolls" has just recently been released. Among those we performed on Dean Martin, Dusty Springfield, Marilyn Monore, Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra & Nat King Cole.. what a dream!
Rehearsals went splendidly and when the director came in to check on team Zoo, he was overwhelmed by everything he saw and by now we were just so excited to get on set the next day at the East London Studios.
We spent 8 hours on set and we were thrilled with the day's work. It looked stunning and the producer even said that he felt like watching a film musical! We were over the moon from the excitement an extremely proud of what we achieved which such short of notice and time.
So for now, we will let the COOL CATS & DIAMON DOLLS commercial speak for itself, and we sit back and watch proudly every time it comes on TV!
